Overview

Jhansi, Gwalior and Orchha are historic cities in Central India, rich in history, architecture and cultural heritage. This educational tour offers students an opportunity to explore the history of the Marathas, the Bundela dynasty, the British colonial period, and the magnificent forts and palaces of the region. The three destinations complement each other particularly well: Gwalior for medieval military architecture, Jhansi for India's freedom-struggle history, and Orchha for Bundela art, architecture and river heritage.

Best Time to Visit

October to March is the most suitable period for a school heritage tour because students will spend considerable time walking through forts, palaces and open heritage sites. Best months: October, November, December, January, February and March. July to September: The monsoon can bring greener landscapes, although rain can affect outdoor sightseeing. April to June: Generally less suitable for school groups because temperatures in the Bundelkhand region can become very high.
