Overview

Corbett National Park, India's first national park, and Nainital, the charming lake district of Uttarakhand, offer a perfect combination of wildlife, ecology, nature and scenic beauty. This educational tour offers students an opportunity to explore wildlife conservation, forest ecosystems, geography and the natural heritage of the Himalayas. Students get the opportunity to experience a real forest ecosystem through a guided wildlife safari, observe birds and animals in their natural habitat, learn about conservation and then travel into the Kumaon Himalayas to study mountain geography, lakes, forests, climate and hill-town development.

Best Time to Visit

March to May is highly recommended with excellent period for wildlife observation, outdoor learning and comfortable Nainital sightseeing. Mid-September to December is excellent as post-monsoon landscapes are attractive and the weather is generally suitable for outdoor educational activities. December to February is suitable for winter experiences and possible snowfall in Nainital, but students should be prepared for cold weather. July to September is not recommended for a conventional school safari programme as monsoon conditions affect access to some areas.
